On Friday, September 1st, the Texas House Homeland Security Committee will hear invited testimony from several government offices regarding Operation Lone Star. Although public testimony will NOT be heard, public comments can be made online anytime from now until the hearing is adjourned. Below are five main points Alliance for a Safe Texas will comment on, which we want to see Operation Lone Star place additional emphasis on. We are encouraging concerned Texas citizens to send in their comments and support the following:
The reconstitution of the Texas Department of Homeland Security as a stand-alone department.
Funding and support for Regional Cooperative Task Forces, which will collaborate with Operation Lone Star.
Support for expanded elite brush teams.
Creation of a stand-alone Texas Border Force under the direction of the Texas Border Czar.
Address ongoing and long-standing issues with HHS-contracted facilities housing unaccompanied minors throughout Texas.
Please keep comments brief and precise, as there is a 3,000-character limit. Please send your online comments to https://comments.house.texas.gov/home?c=c420

As a concerned tax-paying citizen, I want to stress that Texas must do all we can to protect our sovereign state. While great efforts have been made, more unprecedented actions must be taken to protect Texas and its citizens from the vast negative consequences the border crisis is inflicting on all 254 counties. I am encouraging the committee to consider the following measures: The reconstitution of the Texas Department of Homeland Security as a stand-alone department; funding and support for Regional Cooperative Task Forces, which will collaborate with Operation Lone Star; support for expanded elite brush teams; creation of a stand-alone Texas Border Force under the direction of the Texas Border Czar; and address on-going and long-standing issues with HHS-contracted facilities housing unaccompanied minors throughout Texas. Thank you!
