Texas Legislators Unite Against Organ Harvesting
The Correlation between the Red Trade Market & the U.S. Border Crisis
This past Wednesday, Senator Kolkhorst held a press conference with fellow Senators and Representatives showing bi-partisan support for Senate Bill 1040 and the House's identical version, HB 2025.
If signed into law, SB 1040 would prohibit medical benefits coverage of organ transplant surgeries and treatment "…performed in China or another country known to have participated in organ harvesting, as designated by the commissioner of state health services (Sec. 1380.002, a.1); or the human organ to be transplanted was procured by a sale or donation originating in China or another country known to have participated in organ harvesting, as designated by the commissioner of state health services (Sec. 1380.002, a.2)."
Since the early 2000s, with the release of a report by Canadian Human Rights lawyer David Matas and Canadian cabinet minister David Kilgour alarmed the world of the atrocities of forced organ harvesting at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party or CCP. Since then, ample evidence and firsthand testimonies continue to surface, reaffirming the existence of the demonic slaughter of prisoners for the lucrative illegal organ harvesting business.
Survivors from CCP-run concentration camps shared heart-wrenching testimony and advocated for the passage of SB 1040. Highlights from some of the testimony below.
Kalbinur Sidik was forced to teach in CCP run camps for men and women. Sidik described how she witnessed 30-40 men in a single cell, chained together and violently tortured. Sidik was then forced to teach in a camp for women. The base had over 10,000 women according to Kalbinur. The women were regularly raped and tortured. The prisoners were subjected to forced medical exams, vaccines, and sterilization. Sadik recalled accounts of organ harvesting.

In 2016 Haitiwaji was forced into the CCP camps, shackled to fellow prisoners. Gulbahar stated that 250 women were held at the prison and forced to work in negative 20-degree Celsius weather. Gulbahar recalled that in April 2017 she was one of many female prisoners chained to a bed for over 20 days. In 2018, Haitiwaji was moved to another larger camp where she was sentenced to 7 years and given a number that was used to identify her. Referring to the prisoners by name was strictly forbidden. Haitiwaji detailed being forced into reeducation classes for 11 hours daily while required to give daily praise and thanks to Xi Jinping and her CCP captors. Gulbahar stated that she is now classified as a terrorist by the CCP for sharing her experiences as a survivor of the horrendous crimes against basic human rights.

As a prisoner of the CCP for practicing Falun Gong, Chen was sentenced to four and a half years of forced labor. Chen never received a trial. Her mother was arrested, tortured, and killed. Chen recalled being chained to a radiator for three days while enduring continued assault. While in the labor camp, Chen stated that she and other Falun Gong prisoners were tortured and constantly subjected to medical exams, including blood tests, to check which prisoners would be a match for forced organ harvesting. Chen claimed that a database was established with medical results so that an organ match could be easily identified, attracting "a lot of organ tourism" into China.

Dr. Monsour recalled a cancer patient about eight years ago who was denied an organ transplant due to the advancement of his cancer. The patient approached Dr. Monsour, asking for advice about an organ offered to the patient from China.
Despite the Doctor's advice against the treatment in China, the patient proceeded with the transplant surgery. Dr. Howard explained how sick and dying American patients could be inadvertently lured into the organ harvesting cycle, never knowing that a prisoner was killed for the organ. Dr. Monsour viewed the passage of SB 1040 as an effective way to educate and potentially prohibit the practice of harvesting organs.
Although seemingly rare, organ harvesting does happen in the United States.
In 2011, Levy Izhak Rosenbaum, a Brooklyn, New York resident, was the first federal conviction of organ harvesting in the U.S. Rosenbaum admitted to selling three kidney transplants, receiving at least $120,000 for the illegal trade.
More common forms of organ harvesting in the United States revolves around the abortion industry. A recent case was uncovered when Judicial Watch obtained HHS documents detailing the gruesome studies conducted by the University of Pittsburgh. According to the documents, organs were harvested from aborted babies up to 42 weeks gestation. Details divulged from the records described the likelihood of harvesting while the child's heart was still beating, all excused away in the name of scientific research.
One may ask themselves, how do horrific accounts of involuntary organ harvesting tie into the U.S.-Mexico border and the ongoing border crisis?
Previously, accusations of organ harvesting in Mexico have been recorded. For example, in 2014, reports of violent Mexican cartels murdering children and selling their organs began surfacing.
In 2021, Polish media began reporting the alleged murder and selling of the victims' organs in Mexico.
While advocating for a secure border, I have heard rumors of organ harvesting, particularly of children, purportedly occurring along the border. However, I had not found evidence to substantiate any of the claims until recently.
"If I had doubts that the red trade (organ trade) existed in Columbia, I have none that it's thriving here in Mexico" Mariana van Zeller (National Geographic, Investigative Reporter, Black Market Organs).
The closest I have come across of possible evidence of the red trade being intertwined with the border crisis has been evidence presented by an investigative reporter for National Geographic, Mariana van Zeller.
With proof of a thriving organ harvesting market occurring overseas and history of the market thriving under surrounding mass migration events and in counties such as China, the Philippines, Africa, and Middle Eastern countries, Zeller asked the critical question, "With a full-blown migrants crisis taking place at our own borders could organ trafficking be right here at the doorstep of the United States?"
According to data provided by Zeller, 17 people die per day in the U.S. waiting for an organ transplant. Zeller reports that in 2020 roughly 100,000 Americans were on the list waiting for an organ, with only 39,000 having received life-saving transplant surgery.
Mariana interviewed a San Francisco infectious disease doctor, Dr. Peter Chin-Hong, who specializes in organ transplants. Dr. Chin-Hong estimated that the baseline of the black-organ market in the U.S. is at least 10%. However, Chin-Hong believed the actual number was much higher.
Zeller traveled to Columbia, specifically Turbo and Necocli, areas controlled by the violent Columbian cartel Clan Del Golfo. Turbo and the migrant chokepoint in Necocli, already known for the active drug smuggling rings controlled by Clan De Golfo, has reportedly become the epicenter of organ harvesting. The locations are ideal for preying on desperate migrants preparing to cross into the deadly and expensive track through the Darien Gap. Interviews ranged from a "general" within the criminal cartel organization to a current local police officer and an extractor of organs who presented alleged video evidence of surgery on living migrant victims.
Closer to the U.S. southern border, Mariana continued investigating allegations of a similar organ harvesting trade occurring in Mexico. Several interviews in Mexico produced allegations of analogous medical exams and blood tests described in testimonies given on the Texas Senate floor by former prisoners held by the CCP.
Those interviewed in the Mexican cartel organizations, self-identified as involved in the red market, describe testing the compatibility for matches needed for organ transplants. According to leadership within the harvesting ring in Mexico, each human organ is worth $200,000. The traffickers claim that the majority of the purchasers are from the U.S., Canada, and Italy.
By the end of the investigation, Mariana van Zeller stated, "If I had doubts that the red trade existed in Columbia, I have none that it's thriving here in Mexico."
Unfortunately, it is not difficult to come to the reasonable conclusion that the current border crisis, continuing to incentivize the unprecedented trafficking of drugs and humans over the U.S. sovereign borders, very possibly is simultaneously attracting the horrific and lucrative practice of organ harvesting to the doorstep of the United States.
Although it seems small, if SB 1040 is successfully signed into law, other states will hopefully follow Texas' lead. If Texas and the United States is to truly become a leader in combating the red trade, one of the most critical efforts to stop this barbaric practice must include securing the sovereign borders.
